Position Title: Medical Collections Specialist

Praesum currently provides services to behavioral health facilities providing all levels of care from inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse detoxification, through SUD and mental health outpatient clinics.

Medical Collections Specialist Job description:
The Medical Collections Clerk supports the collection team in the daily functions for Praesum Healthcare and all Affiliates by performing the duties assigned and required.

Medical Collections Specialist Duties/Responsibilities:
• Creates daily reports for patient accounts; Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• Call patients to notify of balances
• Creating and sending patient statements
• Posting the credit card payments daily (payment plan from collectors)
• Run monthly statement Detox & IOP review statement for high balance and claims that are not adjusted
• Work on write off accounts
• Responsible for follow up on returned mail (incorrect address, etc.)

Medical Collections Specialist Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-year experience in collections
• High call volume experience
• Individual must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Outgoing personality and comfortable being on the phone with patients
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task

Medical Collections Specialist Schedule:
• Full Time
• 8am – 4:30pm
• Monday - Friday
